The fourth edition of the My Electricity program will qualify photovoltaic installations completed from February 1, 2020 (the cost of installation date is decisive). This means that people interested in the grant from the new edition of this program do not have to wait with expenses related to investment in photovoltaics. The fourth call started on April 15, 2022, has been extended, and will last until March 31, 2023, or until the funds are exhausted.

What is the grant for?

In the fourth edition, you can apply for funding for:

a photovoltaic installation with a capacity from 2 kW – 10 kW
energy storage – a battery with a minimum capacity of 2 kWh,
heat storage* – hot water tanks powered by a heat pump or electric boiler, hot water tanks with an electric heater, heat buffers powered by a heat pump or electric boiler, heat buffers with an electric heater, heat buffers along with a hot water tank as one complete device, air/water heat pump, i.e. a heat pump for hot water + hot water tank or a heat pump for hot water with an integrated tank,
an electricity management system HEMS/EMS.

*Only heat storage devices that do not increase the self-consumption of electricity generated by the photovoltaic micro-installation are eligible for the grant – e.g., hot water tank and/or heat buffer powered by a solid fuel boiler, gas boiler.

Grant from the “My Electricity 4.0” program – how much is it?

The grant is a form of non-repayable financial assistance. The amount of the grant from the “My Electricity” program can cover up to 50% of the eligible costs of the installation. The purchase of a photovoltaic installation along with accompanying components is favored. Individual support amounts add up. Higher funding amounts were announced in November.

The maximum amount of funding is 31,000 PLN, of which:

PV installation alone – up to 6,000 PLN,
PV installation when purchasing other elements – up to 7,000 PLN,
heat storage – up to 5,000 PLN,
electric energy storage – up to 16,000 PLN,
HEMS/EMS energy management system (provided the purchase of heat or energy storage) – up to 3,000 PLN.

Important – applicants who have already received the subsidy payment under MP4 at the previous amount will not have to submit a new application; eligible costs will be recalculated, and if the increased level of funding is due, the difference will be paid.

“My Electricity” – who is the program for?

The “My Electricity” program is aimed at households, and only individuals generating electricity for their own needs can become beneficiaries. A requirement is the conclusion of a comprehensive agreement regulating the issues related to the introduction of electricity generated in a micro-installation into the network. In the 4th edition, the condition is to settle accounts in the new net-billing system. Prosumer customers settling in the existing net-metering system (so-called net-metering) can also receive a grant, but they must switch to the new billing system.

“My Electricity” and the thermomodernization relief and “Clean Air”

A prosumer can benefit from the thermal modernization relief in force since the beginning of 2019 (allowing the deduction of the photovoltaic installation from the tax base), but it will only cover expenses beyond support. “My Electricity” does not combine with the grant in the “Clean Air” program.

Does using the agricultural tax relief exclude receiving a grant from the “My Electricity” program?

The investment relief cannot be combined with preferential loans or grants from public funds. If you use the agricultural relief, you cannot apply for funding from the My Electricity program.

Is the grant in the “My Electricity” program taxable?

The grant provided under the My Electricity program for the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic micro-installation is exempt from PIT tax. This means that in the case of receiving the maximum amount of funding, the beneficiary will receive the entire grant “in hand.”

“My Electricity” – first come, first served

Positive opinions about photovoltaics and available grants have made solar power plants extremely popular. The budget of previous editions was quickly depleted. In the fourth edition, grants will also be awarded in the order of applications until the limit is exhausted.

“My Electricity” – when to apply?

Funding from the “My Electricity” program can be received once the installation is reported. The application can be submitted only after the investment is completed; no additional actions are required beforehand.

Where to find the application for funding from the “My Electricity” program?

Since 31.03.2020, the Beneficiary has the option to submit the application only online via the Funding Application Generator – https://gwd.nfosigw.gov.pl/. An account on the platform can be created using a trusted profile or e-ID. There is no option to submit a paper application.
